Greetings and thank you for stopping by ayidahonor.com.  I have so much creativity to share with you.  Many people have asked me about my journey to creating my beaded  adornments. Native Style beadery began when I purchased a Native American bead loom 10 years ago. I taught myself how to weave intricate patterns on my bead loom and kept many for myself while giving other pieces away to family and friends as gifts. My journey to bead weaving and jewelry design began even longer ago.

As a small child I lived in the Caribbean and my family island hopped from Belize, to Jamaica and St. Croix I can remember creating simple single strand earrings and necklaces to sell at the local marketplace. The Caribbean culture in which I was raised has heavily influenced my beadwork.  Also my ancestral lineage connects me to many of the concepts you will see in my creations. My great great maternal grandmother used to teach my mother to bead embroider handmade purses and my maternal grandmother was a seamstress and professional millinery designer . I draw inspiration from the creativity passed down from these matriarchs of my great mothers. I am inspired by my family, by nature, by Indigenous cultures and the Gypsies of the world.  My work is filled with love and patience as many of the adornments I create take several hours to several days to complete.

It is so wonderful to be able to share that with you. The beads I use are all weaved with lots of love and positivity and I feel a deep connection with every adornment that I create. I love the notion that women are truly queens and we should be adorned in jewelry that resonates with the queen within. I feel that I am tapping into the universal creative energy that surrounds us all.  Here on www.ayidahonor.com I am confident that you will find an adornment that resonates with the Queen in you.
