Millet Burger Spheres


1 Cup uncooked Millet

Spring water

1 teaspoon vegetable oil


Put 1 cup of uncooked millet in heavy saucepan with two cups of water and a Teaspoon of vegetable oil.  Bring to a boil.  Cover with a tight fitting lid and reduce heat to low.

Allow millet to simmer slowly until the water evaporates.  The millet will separate and fluff up.  Add a little more water if millet still looks grainy.  Each grain must open, losing its beady appearance.  When cooked properly millet will be light and fluffy.

Let cool before using in this recipe.


1  Carrot grated (small grate)

¼ Cup chopped parsley

1  Tablespoon vegetable oil

2  Tablespoons Braggs Liquid Aminos or Nama Shoyu / Tamari

1  Teaspoon Dried Italian herb blend

1  Tablespoon Chickpea (Garbanzo) flour or tapioca starch

1  Tablespoon Oats

1  Tablespoon Ground flax seeds

Preheat oven to 400 Degrees Fahrenheit and generously oil a large baking sheet.  With oiled hands crumble millet and squeeze in the carrots, oil, Braggs, and dried herbs.   Add the flour, oats, and ground flax seeds squeezing with your hands to make a stiff mix.  Divide mixture into table spoon sized balls.  Place balls on the baking sheet about an inch apart.    Bake for 45 minutes or until brown and cooked through.
