Creativity and Entrepreneurship
As a Jewelry artisan I have had many experiences that have led me to this point of knowing my value. There have been times when customers have pushed my creativity allowing me to explore a shared custom vision of an adornment that speaks to their soul. I have also had the opportunity to create adornments that I had not even dreamed of until I began to value my gifts.
My creativity is valuable! This can be a tough one for many artisans. We have to know that we are worthy of being reciprocated for our hard work. This knowing is what opens the door to opportunities to generate even more income and take our creativity to the next level.
When I have shared my beadwork online with friends and fans, I have received lots of love and compliments, however this outside positivity did not make me feel worthy for worthiness and honoring your gifts must begin from within.
The very first time that I began to feel worthy of being reciprocated for the many hours of beading that I put into my work was when I wrote a single affirmation on an index card and placed it on my desk where I could read it everyday
The Affirmation simply said: I AM WORTHY OF ALL GOOD THINGS
I began to read this affirmation before and after every creative project and in time I automatically said the words to myself.
I learned to value my creativity and place a value on the time and energy that I spent on each new adornment. The amazing thing is that people respect this process of valuing my work and have been very supportive my process of becoming confident.
Every bead I weave contains the essence of the creative force within our universe. We all have the gift of creativity. Feeling worthy and honoring your gifts, must begin from within. It is self-love and confidence that fuel the inner genius making it shine, thrive and flow.
Here are 3 essential activities that a people can do to take their creativity to the level of artisan and entrepreneurship
• Tap into your inner genius and explore it
Every person is born with the creative force of the universe flowing within them. Children are naturally creative and their curiosity of the world around them fuels them to explore their inner genius. Sometimes because of life experiences a person may become disconnected from the creativity that flows freely. I ask you what is your creative gift? If you are still searching for the answer to this question I would recommend that you get creative, explore a form of creativity that resonates with you. This active exploration is a great way to tap into your own inner genius.
• Be confident
It is important that an artisan is confident about their creative work. Sometimes because of low self-esteem a person may not be able to see the beauty of what they create. Here is an affirmation that is very helpful in helping the mind to be more open to the possibility of taking creativity to the level of entrepreneurship.
The Affirmation: I AM WORTHY OF ALL GOOD THINGS
• Practice, honor and nurture your gift
Once you have found a form of creativity that resonates with you it is important to honor and nurture this gift. When I first learned how to bead weave I was mediocre at my craft. I practiced for nearly a decade before offering my beadwork to the public as a business. Now that I sell my jewelry to the public I find that it is important to know that I am worthy of being reciprocated for my work.
I price my beadwork according to time supplies and make sure that I am compensated for the energy I put into each piece.
I hope that you are inspired by this article and knowing that we all have the gift of creativity.
