      Hey sis Curia,

I’m looking forward to this too. For most of my life I’ve hated having mixed hair and would like to finally stop using a flat iron!

    Hi Ayida,

Are you able to recommend any vegan hair scarves? I won’t use silk because it is produced unethically and polyester doesn’t work very well.

Hi Rebecca, sorry I don’t know of any vegan hair scarves. Have you tried etsy? That site tends to cater a lot to vegan wearables. Let me know if you find anything :)

No I haven’t tried etsy but I’ll let you know if I find anything.

On a different topic, I was wondering if you knew of any educational resources for babies/toddlers under 2 years old. My son just turned 15 months old and the two of us are quite bored with most of his toys and books. Do you know where you can get toys and books that actually promote growth and learning as opposed to the stupefying, mainstream selection? My son is eager to learn and play, however, finding good material has been very difficult.

    Hi Ayida.

I have a friend who says she really doesn’t like her natural hair. She even wants to shave it all off. She says it takes her too much time to care for and she hates spending money on oils to put in it. When I tell her that she should be grateful for her hair she complains that other people don’t have to spend as much time on their hair as her, that it isn’t fair that hers is so dry compared to others, and she says she’d rather spend her time doing other things. She says her natural hair makes her ugly and doesn’t value it very much. If you were me, what would you say to motivate her to care for it? Do you know of any tips on how to minimize the amount of time spent on it each day? Any really quick and easy styles?
